The Batman: Part II: Colin Farrell Teases “Really Beautiful” and “Tasty” Script

Colin Farrell recently rhapsodised about The Batman: Part II, calling It both “really beautiful” and “tasty.”

It’s now been over three years since Matt Reeves’ The Batman debuted. There hasn’t been a sequel yet, although The Batman: Part II is very much on the way, due for release in 2027. The film’s plot largely remains a mystery, but according to star Colin Farrell, who will return as the Penguin, it’s got one hell of a story. Or as he calls it… “tasty.”

After his standout performance in The Batman, Farrell’s Penguin returned for his own solo series in 2024. HBO Max’s The Penguin was an enormous success — it currently stands at a staggering 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It hasn’t been renewed for another season yet, but nothing has been ruled out. Penguin’s next appearance will come in The Batman: Part II.

Recently speaking to ETOnline, Farrell took a minute to rhapsodise about the upcoming DC flick. “Matt Reeves wrote an extraordinary script. Really, really so beautiful. It’s just tasty stuff.”

While he is involved in the movie, his presence isn’t as significant as it was in the first movie. “I don’t have many scenes, I don’t believe, but I’ll be there for whatever. Matt Reeves is so brilliant. I don’t know what the story is yet,” Farrell told The Wrap.

The Batman: Part II has already added a couple of big newcomers to its cast, including the expertise of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan. While their roles haven’t been officially announced, all signs lead towards them playing Glinda Dent and Harvey Dent respectively.

We’ll keep you posted on all the latest news and updates. The Batman: Part II is due for release on October 1, 2027. In the meantime, DC has a couple of other movies coming in 2026, including Supergirl and Clayface.
