DC continued its immense momentum into the New Year, securing 4 of the top 5 best-selling comics for the month of January.
Throughout every month of 2025, both Marvel and DC dominated sales rankings, although Image Comics broke into the Top 10s a few times, notably for Invincible Universe Battle Beast. On the whole, the last year has been pure domination for DC Comics — the publisher struck gold through its Absolute Universe line, which is still going strong today.
Looking to January 2026, the best-seller comes as no real surprise. It was the Absolute Batman Ark-M Special from writers Scott Snyder and Frank Tieri alongside artist Joshua Hixson. The issue was a smash-hit, exploring the grizzly origins and the horrific goings-on within the ArK-M facility. In at second was another winner for Scott Snyder in the form of Absolute Batman #16. which continued the Absolute Team-Up between Batman and Wonder-Woman.
The steady Batman run from Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiminez found a place in third too. It’s fifth issue saw Bruce Wayne on a night out with Dr. Annika Zeller that goes awry.
Writer Deniz Camp, who’s delivering top-tier titles across multiple publishers, lands two titles in the Top 25. His Marvel work, Ultimate Endgame #1 comes in fifth, while his DC comic Absolute Martian Manhunter #8 falls just short of the Top 10.
