DC Releasing 'Absolute Batman' Covers Book in 2027

DC Comics will collect all of the greatest Absolute Batman covers in one, 216-page tome hitting shelves in April 2027.

From Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, Absolute Batman launched in late 2024. Since then, it has gone onto be one of the biggest comic book launches of all time — the sales figures speak for themselves. The series is a commercial phenomenon, breaking records at every turn and regularly topping sales charts. Absolute Batman re-invents the Batman mythos from the ground up, chronicling a different origin for Bruce Wayne; he doesn’t inherit a fortune, but instead works as in construction. Plus, notably Absolute Batman carries a badass axe. Snyder masterfully crafts a story that feels different, yet carries the same essence of what makes Batman go popular.

The series is showing zero signs of slowing down; there’s even an animated adaptation in development from Snyder himself.

Of course, the Absolute Universe continuity also began with two other tentpole series, Absolute Superman andAbsolute Wonder Woman. Since then, we’ve had plenty of other runs, including Absolute Martian Manhunter, Absolute Green Arrow, Absolute Green Lantern, and so on.

After ongoing for a couple of years, we’re beginning to see various different editions of Absolute Batman on the horizon. For instance, the series will get its first Deluxe Edition in 2027 (more on that here), and in addition to that, DC Comics is also publishing a 216 book containing all of the best variant covers from across the first 14 issues of the series.

Fans have been desperate for a cover book for some time now — Absolute Batman has some of the very best variant covers out there. In fact, we’ve written a whole article about it. A decimated covers book is a huge, needed move for the series.
