‘The X-Files’ Is Returning This Winter With an All-New Comic Series
The Truth Is Back Out There: The X-Files is officially returning in a new comic book from fan-favorite writer Joe Harris, launching later this year. Here’s everything you need to know.
Some big news came out of Dynamite Entertainment today, folks, with the announcement that Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are officially returning to comic book shelves in a brand-new series from Dynamite Entertainment, set to debut this winter. The franchise’s definitive modern writer in comics returns, with Joe Harris back at the helm.
Joe Harris is the definitive writer of X-Files comics, penning over 50 issues over the years and expanding the franchise’s lore in a huge way. Overall, he has written more X-Files comic scripts than any other creator and is best known for his Season 10 and Season 11 storylines, published more than a decade ago. What’s more, joining him for this new era of unclassified tales — which take place after the show — is artist Riley Brown. The up-and-coming penciler is currently best known for Dead Acre: Black Badge.
The plot for the new X-Files comics is currently under wraps. Expect more detailed updates in the coming weeks and months. But for now, here’s our first look at the cover and character designs:
