If you enjoy Eurovision, prepare for the song contest to stretch across the cosmos in Doctor Who season 2!
The BBC has released a teaser for the new season of Doctor Who, which sees Ncuti Gatwa reprise his role as the Fifteenth Doctor, alongside all-new companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu. But worry not; former companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) is involved, too.
The new season will be the second instalment since Disney invested in the franchise. Season 1 got off to a rocky start, with great episodes, like 73 Yards, to disappointing entries, like The Devil’s Chord. There were high points and low, but the vast majority of of viewers were super impressed by Gatwa’s performance as the titular Time-Lord.
Looking ahead to the new season, which airs April 12, the BBC recently released a new teaser showing off some of the action-packed, suspenseful, and downright bizarre story arcs. Tales range from a runaway cartoon (voiced by Emmy-winning actor Alan Cumming), to an interstellar song contest, hosted by none other than British presenter Rylan Clark. All that withstanding, it also looks to be a bit darker than its predecessor. Check out the trailer:
Doctor Who shines in new comics and audio dramas!
Doctor Who returns to BBC One in the United Kingdom on April 12, with new episodes airing weekly. It’ll also be available on Disney+ for international viewers. In the meantime, we recommend reading the Fifteenth Doctor’s latest adventure in Everyone Must Go, a new graphic novel from Titan Comics. Or if reading is not your thing, the iconic Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) return for more adventures in an audio series, coming later this year.
