Preview: ‘Terminal #3’ Just Dropped One of Robert Kirkman’s Bloodiest Comic Pages Ever

Get your first look at Terminal #3, which heads to comic book stores on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The upcoming issue features one of the bloodiest pages in Kirkman’s catalog, which is a big feat for a man who’s known for delivering some of the most gruesome splash pages in comics.
When it debuted at Image Comics back in July, Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey’s new superhero universe Terminal was one of the superhero comic events of the year. The hype was expected, between them, Kirkman and Casey have ushered in some of the most popular sci-fi and horror franchises out there, including The Walking Dead, Invincible, and Ben 10. Also involved is artist Andy Kubert, colorist Dave McCaig (The Walking Dead Deluxe), and letterer Rus Wooton (TRANSFORMERS). All things considered, this is one of the most kick-ass teams out there.
In our review of Terminal, we heaped praise on it, declaring the series worthy of all the hype and expectation. The series takes place in a world where a secret war is being raged between violent forces, both bestowed with superpowers. We’re introduced to our human protagonist, Marilyn Howe, in the traditional sense — she’s a regular person, thrown in at the deep end way over her head. Marilyn and her sister Alessandra lost their parents at a young age, and Alessandra bought her up from a young age. However, we learn that Alessandra had since gone missing, returning as a hero with super-strength powers.
Ahead of the debut of issue #3 later this month, Image Comics has unveiled a first look at the next issue, and it’s one hell of a preview. The official logline for issue #3 reads: “Alessandra is lost in despair after recent events. Yet, the battle rages on! Her team faces larger and more deadly threats as The Awakened gains more power. But unfortunately, a deadly NEW enemy emerges! When it rains, it pours!”
Prepare yourselves, folks, because this preview is particularly bloody. Take a look:
