Which 2026 comics have stood out most to our readers?

The vast majority of replies came from our post on X, where fans flooded the replies to rhapsodise about their favourite comics of 2026. Some titles were already well-known comics, others are hidden gems.

“My favorite book of the year has been Horace H. Hoover by [Fabrizio Aiello],” Bootlegger Comics wrote. “The art is fantastic. The story is funny, suspenseful and touching. It is definitely worth your money and, more importantly, your time.”

Charles Wagon sent over some love for Robert Kirkman and David Finch’s Skinbreaker, a comic we also praised. “Great story, insane artwork,” they wrote.

Sticking with comics overseen by Kirkman, Steve Lundy celebrated the Energon Universe’s G.I. Joe. “Energon GI Joe. Still a fun read with a different spin on GI Joe.”

Hernán González, of the artists behind Star Trek: The Last Starship, also replied. You’ll never guess what he said. “It’s not just because I’m one of the artists, but I think Star Trek: The Last Starship is one of the best comics today.”

On BlueSky, Seth Shandor praised Mad Cave Studios’ Barbarian Behind Bars. “An intriguing premise with great art from the Maniac of New York team of Elliott Kalan and Andrea Mutti,” they wrote.

On Facebook, our contributor Daniel Gehen cited Image Comics series The Darkness from co-creator Marc Silvestri (The Darkness, Cyber Force, Batman and the Joker: The Deadly Duo) as a standout, writing: “Great art and Marc Silvestri has made great strides as a writer.”

Other titles mentioned include:

  • Ghost Pepper
  • Absolute Batman
  • Gatchaman
  • Tales of the Frog Knight
  • Conan the Barbarian

  1. G’Day Ashley, new to site and have been really enjoying it !
Myfavourites of “first quarter” 2026 have been:
Eat Your Young, which ended as strongly as it started – brutal action tied to a clever premise and populated by intriguing characters.

Alien -v- Captain America, so much better than I expected, with great WW2 action and some insane ideas made this one a great surprise ! The art was gorgeous with some fantastic visuals.

New Space Age, another great surprise. The premise was clever and unique and the story has been ripping along. The art is a cross between Tom Scioli and Andy Suriano.

Finally D’ORC is my new favourite comic (or favourite new comic) !
