This gorgeously illustrated graphic novel draws you in from the very first page. It follows loved-up couple, Meera and Mark, as they search for a new home. After viewing a potential forever home, they find themselves stranded in a forest when a road in a sleepy village mysteriously ends, leaving them to crash into the depths of the woodland. But this isn’t just any woods; it bends time and defies all logic. They aren’t just lost; they are mere pawns in a forest with a mind of its own, governed by its own rules.

Be Not Afraid

Be Not Afraid, published by BOOM! Studios, is an ambitious and evocative entry into the realm of horror comics that skillfully explores themes of faith, identity, and the complexities of maternal love.
Written by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, with striking illustrations by Lisandro Estherren and atmospheric coloring by Francesco Segala, the comic offers a compelling narrative that resonates on both a spiritual and psychological level.
The story centers on Cora Reims, a young farm woman who experiences a prophetic vision that leads her to give birth to a Nephilim, an entity caught between the celestial and the mortal worlds. Buried Long, Long Ago

From acclaimed writer Anthony Cleveland ( Bram Stoker Award-nominated artist Alex Cormack (Road of Bones), comes ‘Buried Long, Long Ago’ — a chilling, historical horror. But what makes this one extra scary is that it’s based on true events.
This comic covers the story of Belle Gunness, who was born in the mid-1800s, spending most of her life between Illinois and Indiana. Over her lifetime, she was responsible for murdering upwards of 40 people. She would lure lonely men to her farm, where she would savagely kill them and take their money. During her lifetime, Belle managed to avoid trial, and so much of the story has been left largely uncovered.
Writer Anthony Cleveland delivers an extremely chilling and disturbing take on the true story — and the art from Cormack is breathtaking. To learn more, check out our review.

The Seasons

The Seasons is created by Rick Remender (Deadly Class. Black Science) & Paul Azaceta (Outcast). Featuring plenty of whimsical horror, this series is undeniable a unique commodity.

The Shadow Planet

From writer Giovanni Barbieri and artist Gianluca Pagliarani, The Shadow Planet is an interstellar horror with heavy influences of seminal cosmic horror author H.P. Lovecraft. It’s also a mashup of some of the finest genre works out there, such as Alien, The Thing, Annihilation, and Event Horizon. To call it an ode and a love letter to classic sci-fi would be an understatement.
The Shadow Planet follows the crew of the rocket Vidar when they land on a seemingly desolate and barren planet to rescue a lost patrol. However, what they find there has the potential to destroy mankind.

The Last Day of H.P. Lovecraft

In 2025, French creators Romuald Giulivo and Jakub Rebelka have brought their popular comic depicting (a fictionalised version of) Lovecraft’s last day, to readers in English-language for the first time.
Romuald Giulivo and Jakub Rebelka’s comic, The Last Day of H.P. Lovecraft, published by BOOM! Studios, presents gorgeously stylised ethereal and dreamlike illustrations that evoke the immense visions of the genre pioneer. The melancholic story explores the final moments of H.P. Lovecraft, a legendary horror scribe, but an inherently controversial figure who had so many deplorable views. It delves into the beginning of his enduring legacy, which remains as relevant today as ever.

Exquisite Corpses

Published by Image Comics, Exquisite Corpses is undoubtedly one of the standout horror comics of 2025. Dubbed the comic event of the year, Exquisite Corpses is written by acclaimed comics scribe James Tynion IV, alongside a number of incredibly talented artists.

The series is a unique twist on The Purge and Squid Game, in which a group of wealthy American families are pitted against each other in a gruesome fight to the death. The official synopsis reads: Every five years on Halloween, the wealthiest families in America play a game. In Exquisite Corpses, 12 of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine—this year’s unlucky arena—the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night.

Night of the Slashers

From New York Times bestselling writer Cavan Scott (Union Jack the Ripper) and artist Paul Fry (Spider-Man 2099), comes blood-soaked slasher Night of the Slashers. This comic was pleasantly surprising. Sure, it carries plenty of genre cliches, but it’s just so good… and incredibly brutal. Check out the synopsis:

Our Brilliant Ruin: Horror at Crane Mansion

Another excellent comic delving into the world of Lovecraftian-inspired horror, Our Brilliant Ruin: Horror at Crane Mansion is published by Dark Horse Comics and written by Cullen Bunn with art from Christopher Mitten, this 3-issue series is an Edwardian twist on Lovecraftian horror.
The synopsis reads:
Our Brilliant Ruin depicts a world where intricate social ties of allegiance and conflict are tested by the presence of the Ruin—a malignant force that corrodes the world and turns people into horrific creatures. In “Horror at Crane Mansion,” an investigator for hire finds herself in deep when a simple job vetting a wealthy woman’s suitors becomes a death trap. Viking Moon

Vikings! Werewolves! What’s not to love? In Viking Moon, writer Joe Pruett imagines a brutal world where the two face off against each other, and it’s bloody brilliant.
Published by Image Comics and written by Eisner-winning writer Joe Pruett (Voices In My Head, Cable, Domino) with art from Marcelo Frusin (Hellblazer, Loveless, Kick-Ass: The New Girl), the blood-curdling saga sees Vikings face off against werewolves.
Viking Moon takes place years after legendary Viking explorer Leif Erikson established a settlement in North America. After his expedition ended in disaster, Ulf and his tribe of Vikings sail to the shores of Vneland (present day Newfoundland). As they traverse their new surroundings, they encounter indigenous people… and put targets on their backs. However, that’s not all they have to worry about. Lurking in the night are creatures of legend; werewolves. And where they’re involved, death is usually just around the corner.
