While we know that Sadie Sink plays a big role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the specifics have been kept under lock and key by Sony. However, recent reports have offered a few interesting details. Let’s explore!
Despite many months of knowing Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is involved in the MCU‘s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we don’t even know for certain who she’s playing. Some popular choices include X-Men’s Jean Grey or Mayday Parker. One more recent suggestion is multiversal villain Shathra. But right now, we have zero confirmation.
Whoever Sadie Sink plays, one thing is clear: she has a big role. In fact, rumours are that she’ll reprise her role in 2027 for Avengers: Secret Wars. Sink herself has been playing it coy. In a recent interview, she addressed the theories herself. “A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Tom [Holland] can wave at the fans because people know who he is, but then you get a glimpse of me and I’m [wrapped up] like a penguin. That’ll be the situation for a bit, it seems.”
The latest speculation comes from The Cosmic Circus, which reported that Severance star Trammel Tillman has been tapped to play the new head of the Department of Damage Control (DODC) — an organisation first introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The report says Tillman’s role will see him “lead an investigation by the DODC to apprehend a new rogue metahuman they have been keeping an eye on for a while.” The person they’re chasing? Well apparently it’s Sadie Sink’s character.
The report also adds that those with super abilities who keep themselves hidden “are being placed in the Damage Control Supermax Prison, where they can be monitored and even experimented on without any jurisdiction or oversight.”
Furthermore, the pursuit of Sink’s character puts her under the protection of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, along with Spider-Man and Bruce Banner. It seems Brand New Day will have a heavy focus on street-level crime in the MCU.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day debuts July 31, 2026. What do you make of these new details? Tell us in the comments down below!
