First Look: Humanity Inches Closer to Its Doom in 'TERMINAL #2'

Terminal is one of the most exciting new superhero universes of the year, and after a killer start, the series continues on August 26. Here’s a look at what’s in store!

In our review of Terminal #1, we couldn’t contain our excitement about the new series from Image Comics. “The debut brings everything Kirkman is known for, moving forward at a breakneck pace, throwing twists and brutal swings at every turn, but never sacrificing on world-building,” we wrote. “But perhaps most of all, it’s got his signature emotional beats: it prioritises relationships and family, keeping it at the forefront, and it’s that which keeps you invested.”

The series comes from the esteemed team of Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and Joe Casey (Uncanny X-Men, Wildcats), Andy Kubert (X-Men, Batman), David Finch (Ultimate X-Men, Batman), and Arthur Adams (X-Men). It takes place in a world where a secret war is being raged between violent forces, both bestowed with superpowers. We’re introduced to our human protagonist, Marilyn Howe, in the traditional sense — she’s a regular person, thrown in at the deep end way over her head. Marilyn and her sister Alessandra lost their parents at a young age, and Alessandra bought her up from a young age. However, we learn that Alessandra had since gone missing, returning as a hero with super-strength powers.

The series got off to a stellar start at Image, selling out immediately, already returning to print due to high demand. “This is one of the coolest comics ever made from the coolest creative teams in comics,” writer Robert Kirkman said. “I’ll be surprised if we’re not announcing the 3rd printing of issue #1 before I finish typing this quote!”

“It’s really gratifying to see the early response to a book we’ve all worked so hard on for so long,” co-writer Joe Casey added. “Now we can add Rick Leonardi to the list of legendary artists we’re bringing aboard the Terminal train. And this is only the first issue — it only gets better from here!”
