It wasn’t as prolific as former years, but there were some top tier shows, including the debut of Daredevil: Born Again, and the return of both Invincible and Gen V. Looking ahead to what’s in store for 2026, a few fan-favorite shows are returning, and there are a couple of highly-anticipated series debuts. Let’s dive into our choices!

Our 5 Most-Anticipated Comic Book Series Coming in 2026!

1. Invincible Season 4

Robert Kirkman’s comic series Invincible was the self-proclaimed best superhero comic in the universe — and Prime Video’s animated adaptation is right up there with the best shows in the universe, too.

Invincible seems to get better with each season. The scale goes up a level. It gets more brutal as well. By the end of season 3, Mark Grayson faced his toughest opponent yet in Viltrumite titan Conquest. Season 4 consists of  8-episodes, and will see Mark continue to grapple with his Vilrtumite heritage, while ardently trying to protect Earth from the Viltrumites determined to takeover the planet.

Invincible season 4 is coming in March 2025 from Prime Video.

2. The Boys Season 5

In an industry dominated by Marvel and DC, Prime Video’s The Boys was one of the first shows to subvert the genre and cement itself as one of the best genre shows out there. Like Invincible, it’s brutal, gruesome, and vulgar. But the story itself is inherently political, often feeling a little too close to home.

“Big stuff’s gonna happen,” reads the tagline for the fifth and final season, per Variety. “It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp’ Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people.”

The Boys season 5 premieres in April 2026.

3. Lanterns

Coming in mid-2025 DC’s Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

“From the start, our driving force has been to deliver a layered drama – rooted in nuanced storytelling and rich world building – that balances tension and mystery with honest, authentic emotion. The goal is to create something that feels timeless and grounded without sacrificing the magic of the source material,” said showrunner Chris Mundy.

Lanterns also has an immense creative team behind it, being written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. The series also stars Aaron Pierre, Kyle Chandler, Kelly Macdonald, and Garret Dillahunt.

4. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

First airing on Netflix back in 2015, Daredevil quickly became one of the most acclaimed comic book shows in the world. It subsequently ended after 3 seasons, but Charlie Cox’s hero later found a home at Disney, where he’d trickle into the all-encompassing Marvel Cinematic Universe. The original show made a comeback, too, in the form of Daredevil: Born Again. A project years in the waiting, Born Again made some controversial decisions, but on the whole, it was a success.

Season 2 will premiere in 2026. There’s little details about the plot yet, but we’re seated regardless. The Devil’s work is never done, after all.

5. Vision Quest

Created by Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys), Vision Quest is a WandaVision spinoff, continuing the story of Paul Bettany’s Vision, who is back as White Vision from the ending of WandaVision, as well as a regular-looking human version of the character. It’s the third project in the trilogy, following Agatha All Along.

Alongside the returning Bettany, the series also stars Diane Morgan, James Spader, Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, T’Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, Orla Brady, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and James D’Arcy. In terms of plot we know very little about the series, beyond the fact that it’s loosely inspired by Tom King’s popular VISION comics series from 2015. This project might be shrouded in mystery at the moment, but after the success of WandaVision and Agatha All Along, we’re more than excited to see what’s in store for Vision Quest.
