According to a recent report, Marvel Studios is eyeing A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey to play Beast in the MCU’s X-Men reboot.

Expected to commence in 2028-2029, Phase 7 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will officially bring in the franchise’s first dedicated movie. It’s also likely that we’ll see a number of anticipated sequels too, such as Doctor Strange 3 and Black Panther 3. As the franchise approaches two decades on our screens in 2028, there’s still so much to come and entire teams to be introduced into the fold.

Of course, the MCU began dropping in X-Men characters many years ago at this point. Mutants are nothing new to the continuity — look no further than Deadpool & Wolverine — but we’re yet to have a fully-fledged X-Men movie. That will change in Phase 7, with a number of new cast members set to play beloved X-Men heroes. One of which is Beast, famously played by Nicolas Hoult and Kelsey Grammer; the latter will reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday.

As for who will play iconic X-Men heroes in the MCU’s upcoming X-Men movie, nothing has been confirmed. However, according to a report from industry insider Jeff Sneider, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey is one of the names being floated to play Beast.

It’s worth noting that this remains very firmly in rumour territory. Claffey would make an excellent Beast. He’s imposing, and has already had immense success thanks to playing Ser Duncan the Tall in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. He wouldn’t be the first Westeros alum to make his way to the MCU. Other stars include Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Pedro Pascal, Emilia Clarke, Richard Madden, and there’s no doubt we’ve missed a couple.

We’ll keep you posted on all the latest news and casting updates when they become official.
