Tom Holland on ‘Brand New Day’: “I don’t think anyone remembers that I’m Spider-Man anymore, except for one person”

Tom Holland has sneakily teased that there’s one character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day who remembers that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Who could it be?

The last time we saw Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was during multiverse movie No Way Home. In that movie, he wanted the entire world to forget that he’s Spider-Man, and after requesting a spell from Doctor Strange, it worked — but it also messed up the multiverse and saw Parker face off against many of his most iconic villains from over the years. In addition, we also saw the return of legendary former Spidey stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. By the end of that movie, Spider-Man defeated his villains, but suffered having to continue his life without any of his former friends knowing who he is.

Well, that last part is a little inaccurate, as according to Holland, there is one person remaining who remembers Peter Parker. As for who that is, we’re left in the dark. “I don’t think anyone remembers that I’m Spider-Man anymore, except for one person,” Holland told IGN. “Nobody remembers that I’m Peter Parker.”

“They know Spider-Man. They know who Spider-Man is. They just don’t know that one specific person anymore,” Zendaya added, to which Holland once more reiterated: “Except for one person.”

Naturally, fans are wondering about whom the person that remembers Spider-Man could be. Theories are wide-ranging. For instance, a few fans have pointed out that it could be Wong (played by Benedict Wong), who mentioned to Doctor Strange that he wanted no part in it back when the spell was woven. Additionally, Holland could be referring to himself, much like when Paul Bettany said WandaVision finally gave him the chance to work with his favorite actor, referring to himself as the other version of Vision. We certainly wouldn’t put it past Holland to mess with our expectations like that.

All of this is to say, who could that person be? Give us all your theories in the comments down below!
