From early Batman and Spider-Man, to Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom, here’s CGC’s hottest comics among collectors for July 2026.
CGC Comics assorts its Hot List in a number of ways, including movie hype, fan speculation, and so on. They cite five titles each month that are the hottest among collectors. This month, there are a few titles that catch the eye, including one forgotten issue — Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom — and for a very specific reason.
So calling all collectors out there, here’s what you should be chasing.
Batman #216 (1969)

DC Comics is not bringing back Daphne Pennyworth as Bruce Wayne’s new butler, but the publisher instead introduced an entirely new character by the name of Verity Pennyworth, Alfred’s great-niece. She debuted in Batman #11 from Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiminez.
It’s clear that the arrival of Verity has sparked interest in Daphne Pennyworth, the niece of Alfred Pennyworth, introduced way back in 1969 with Batman #216.
Amazing Spider-Man #73 (1969)

Spider-Man returns to the movies later this month with Brand New Day, so there’s always going to be an extra-strong interest in Spidey titles at the moment. But the interest in this specific title comes from the Spider-Noir series on Prime Video. This comic has been pushed back into the spotlight for featuring the first appearance of Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson in the series.
Action Comics #544 (1983)

The interest in this comic is obvious. DC’s Man of Tomorrow is now filming, and behind-the-scenes photos from the set feature Nicholas Hoult donning armor heavily inspired by the comic design as seen in the cover. This comic also features Brainiac, who’ll make his screen debut in the upcoming movie.
X-Men #25 (1993)
![]()
This is another comic where it’s easy to see a surge in popularity. This issue features the climax of Wolverine and Magneto’s feud. And in Disney’s recent X-Men ’97, the finale adapted elements of this comic extremely faithfully.
Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom #1 (1962)
![]()
This is the one that comes a little more out of left field. Created by writer Paul S. Newman, editor Matt Murphy, and artist Bob Fujitani, Doctor Solar made its debut way back in 1962, launching Gold Key Comics’ original superhero line. The character certainly falls in the cult category, he isn’t a mainstream hero. So why the sudden interest? Well, The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has acquired the rights to the character. And where Kirkman is involved, there’s always plenty of eyes.
That’s the hot list for this month, folks!
