Absolute Batman fans rejoice! Get your pre-orders in early for the comic’s first ‘Deluxe Edition’, releasing in 2027.

In recent years, no ongoing comic has reached anywhere near the heights of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta’s Absolute Batman. The series is phenomenon from every angle, smashing records and dominating sales charts pretty much every month since it launched in 2024.

Absolute Batman reworks the Batman mythos from the ground up. Set in a world where Bruce Wayne is not the inheritor of a billion-dollar business empire, but a civil engineer, it chronicles how his life could’ve played out differently. It’s a much different vision of traditional Batman, but it keeps the essence of the character and the DNA somewhat in tact. It feels both authentic and novel at the same time. It’s one of the central ongoing titles in DC’s Absolute Universe, along with Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman.

Geeky news, delivered.

Thanks to its immense success, Absolute Batman is expanding its horizons. There’s an animated adaptation on the way, made in collaboration with Snyder and Dragotta themselves. Also, Snyder has teased a figure in a recent post on X. Beyond that, fans can naturally expect special collected editions of the comics. That’s where the Deluxe Edition comes in. The first deluxe version of the series is published by Penguin Random House and releases on April 27, 2027. The hardcover edition has a current price of $49.99. It collects issues 1-14, ending at the conclusion of the Abomination storyline — that’s 424 pages worth of content.

The book is currently available for pre-order at Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, and more. Take a look at the cover down below:

Incidentally, this news comes shortly after Image Comics announced that Scott Snyder’s fan-favorite horror comic WYTCHES is getting a new edition coming out later this year, featuring remastered artwork and more, ahead of the release of its animated adaptation on Prime Video.
