Milly Alcock Recalls Her Toughest Scene to Shoot in ‘Supergirl’

Milly Alcock reveals that her toughest scene to shoot in Supergirl happened while working alongside Superman himself, David Corenswet.

2026 is all set up to be yet another massive year for comic book movies. From Marvel, we’ve got big releases including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday. And for DC, look no further than Supergirl. For the latter, DC recently launched a debut trailer, showing off the movie in all of its cosmic chaos. Directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella, I, Tonya) the movie is loosely based on the Woman of Tomorrow run of comics. It certainly has the feel of a whacky, Guardians of the Galaxy style joyride, and we’re more than seated for it. Check out the action-packed trailer below:

Supergirl is Milly Alcock’s first time headlining a movie. She made a brief cameo as Kara Zor-El at the end of Superman (2025), but it was nothing more than a fun, fleeting appearance. At just 25, she’s already established herself as a household name among geeks. Of course, she played Rhaenyra Targaryen in Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. She also starred in hit Netflix drama Sirens alongside Meghann Fahy.

With the release of the new Supergirl trailer, Alcock caught up with Games Radar, where she revealed that the toughest scene she had to shoot in her first solo movie was alongside none other than Superman himself, David Corenswet. “Oh my god, it was… It was with Superman. And I wasn’t in the suit, and I was speaking… A different language. A different language,” she said.

So you may be wondering, what exactly made the scene so tough? Well, it was freezing cold and she had to speak in a fictional language. “Yeah, that day was really hard, it was, like, 2 degrees,” she explained. “He jumped right in the deep end. Yeah, that was a hard day. The whole scene was in Kryptonian. The whole scene was, yeah… Yeah, Kryptonian.”

Supergirl opens in theatres on June 26, 2026. Are you excited? Tell us in the comments down below!
