Scott Snyder Debuts First Look at Nick Dragotta’s ‘Absolute Scarecrow’

Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder has teased fans with an all-new look at Absolute Scarecrow, and it’s pure nightmare fuel.

Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta’s Absolute Batman run as already given readers new takes on iconic characters from the caped crusader’s rogues gallery. So far, we’ve seen Absolute Bane, Absolute Joker, Absolute Harley Quinn, Absolute Killer Croc, and so on. The series still has so many iconic villains to makeover with the Absolute treatment. One upcoming villain is Scarecrow, and now we have our first look

Our first proper look at Absolute Scarecrow, due to arrive in Absolute Batman #19, came in a WhatNot stream from Trinity Comics. Drawn by Dragotta, Scarecrow looks more terrifying than ever before, uniquely designed, most notably by the buttons for eyes and strings of blood across his mouth. Take a look below:

Absolute Scarecrow also features on the cover for Absolute Batman #19

Another look we have of Absolute Scarecrow comes in Nick Dragotta’s Cover A for Absolute Batman #19. The glimpse of the villain is a little more vague, appearing in the reflection of Batman’s crossed blades. But it is, however, one hell of a cover. See for yourself:

The official synopsis for Absolute Batman #19 reads: “Poison Ivy proved to be just one of the many horrors within the bowels of the ARK M facility, and as Joker sets his sights on Absolute Batman, he decides to enlist the help of one of the center’s most terrifying doctors, Dr. Jonathan Crane. While Bruce Wayne tries to align himself with Barbara Gordon, there’s more than one alliance formed in this issue. New debuts, new villains, new arc starts here.”

Absolute Batman #19 releases April 8, 2026. The final order cutoff date is March 16.
