Later this year, DC’s Absolute Universe will hold its first major crossover event, and Absolute Batman writer and continuity overseer Scott Snyder has dropped key new details.
To call DC’s Absolute Universe a phenomenon would be an understatement. Look no further than Absolute Batman, which pulls in ridiculously strong sales figures every month. Later this year, the continuity brings together all the biggest titles — including Absolute Superman, Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Martian Manhunter, and so on — for its first major crossover event.
Of course, the Absolute line has already had a crossover event, coming with the team-up between Batman and Wonder Woman, but that’s tame compared to what’s on the way later in 2026. Looking ahead to the big event, Scott Snyder was interviewed at a recent event (which you can view on Instagram here), where he spoke openly about the crossover event coming our way.
One of the key takeaways from the chat sees Snyder reveal that Martian Manhunter is key to the crossover. “He plays a really big role in the event, yeah,” Snyder said. “He helps bring everybody together.”
As for the creative side of the project, all of the Absolute writers are teaming up to bounce ideas off each other, but Absolute Superman writer Jason Aaron is the one penning the scripts. “We’re not co-writing it. It’s gonna be Jason [Aaron] who’s writing the actual thing, but we’re all plotting it together. Deniz [Camp] is there, we’re all in the room making it together. It’s really fun in that regard. It’s a big team effort. Deniz is telling his side of what Martian Manhunter will do.”
The Absolute Universe crossover is expected to release in November 2026. Before that, the continuity will first launch two new titles: Absolute Green Arrow from Pornsak Pichetshote; and Absolute Catwoman from Che Grayson and Scott Snyder. We’ll keep you posted on all the latest updates.
