All 30 issues of Mark Kidwell, Nat Jones, and Jay Fotos’s zombie epic ’68 are being collected in a new compendium paperback, coming this Halloween!
Over the years, Image Comics has produced some of the best zombie titles in the industry, from legendary comics like Robert Kirkman’s seminal The Walking Dead, to excellent new hits like Everything Dead & Dying. One title that was consistently brilliant (and gory and brutal) series is ’68 by Mark Kidwell, Nat Jones, and Jay Fotos. If you missed the series the first time around, fear not: the entire run is being collected in one big compendium edition.
The new edition features every piece of content in the saga, from the original one-shot, to the first four-issue miniseries, and everything else. All together, that adds up to over 750 pages of content. It’s the ultimate edition for long-time fans, and the perfect, all-encompassing edition for newcomers to pick up.
So what is ’68 all about? Here’s the official synopsis: On February 13, 1968, during the darkest days of the Vietnam War, the gates of Hell opened wide, unleashing new and hungry life into the countless war-torn dead.
The series is described as Junkyard Joe meets The Walking Dead.
“It’s been a long time coming,” said Fotos. “I’m very excited to get this compendium out to the world!”
Kidwell added: “It’s great to see ’68 rise again, in all its gory glory, collected into one massive volume! Perfect Halloween read!”
The ’68 compendium lands in comic stores everywhere on Tuesday, October 21. Did you read ’68 the first time around? Will you be picking ip this new edition? Tell us in the comments down below.
