Matt Dinniman & Vault Unveil Surprise Main Character for All-New Dungeon Crawler Carl Graphic Novel

Dungeon Crawler Carl creator Matt Dinniman, writer Michael Moreci, and artist Brett Bean offer up an explosive and 100% canon comic book expansion to the DCC universe in the form of Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile.

Dungeon Crawler Carl fans, rejoice! Matt Dinniman & Vault Comics have just announced the main character and title of the forthcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl graphic novel. Titled Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile, the graphic novel follows mercenary Florin “The Crocodile” DuPont — one of the most beloved–yet-enigmatic characters in the franchise.

The full campaign for the graphic novel launches on BackerKit on October 1st, 2025. Backers can gain  a limited pre-launch reservation gift, access series concept art and previews of the campaign, and secure their invite to a very special online Launch Day stream. Check out the campaign announcement video below:

The official description for the Crocodile graphic novel reads:

A mercenary and loner, Florin struggles with his own humanity as he competes on the alien game show Dungeon Crawler World. Florin and the remaining survivors of the global apocalypse will do their best to stay alive in the Dungeon as they fight bizarre monsters and face ridiculous challenges for the entertainment of an interstellar audience! Perfect for both die-hard fans of the smash-hit series AND newbie readers ready to take the plunge… It’s the First Floor like you’ve never seen it before, and it’s coming to you in kickass graphic novel format.

This marks a foray into another medium for the Dungeon Crawler Carl Universe, and things are only going to get bigger. For instance, earlier this year a Dungeon Crawler Carl TV series was announced at Universal International Studios and Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, with the project set to be adapted by Chris Yost (Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, and Disney+’s The Mandalorian).
