Tom Hiddleston says he expects Avengers: Doomsday to be ‘magnificent’ and will defy all viewer expectations.
Later this year, Avengers: Doomsday hits theatres, and it is poised to be one of the movie events of the year. The picture brings back many of our beloved original Avengers, such as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and also brings back fan-favourite X-Men stars, such as Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Add to that the Fantastic Four, and so many others, and it’s one of the biggest ensemble casts ever collected on the big screen. We’ve collected the full, confirmed cast list here. All of them are there battling Doctor Doom, played by none other than Robert Downey Jr.
One of those returning is Tom Hiddleston as long-time MCU villain Loki. Hiddleston has played the Norse trickster for way over a decade now, first appearing in Thor (2011). He went on to be the arch villain in The Avengers (2012), before reprising his role in more films, including Infinity War and Endgame, before ultimately helming his own series in 2021, lasting for two seasons. All things considered, he’s one of the most consistent stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While we don’t know what capacity Hiddleston is involved in the upcoming movie, he is among the cast. And from what he’s read of the scripts, he’s incredibly impressed. “All I can tell you is that Avengers: Doomsday is going to be magnificent and will defy all your expectations,” the actor said in a recent interview with The River. “It defied mine. When I read the film, I thought, ‘This is going to be extraordinary’”
